Rebate Program
Rebate Program
Because we believe that training is such an important part of dog ownership and strengthens the bond between dog and owner, we are instituting a rebate program for titles earned. This program is retroactive to any of our past litters and for all future litters. The titles must be able to be added to your dog’s pedigree and the owner must assume responsibility for having the title added to their dog’s pedigree . Eligible titles can be found on the AKC.org website or we are happy to provide guidance as to applicable titles . Virtual titles are not applicable for this rebate program. . Examples of eligible titles are:
STAR PUPPY, CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Fetch ( 1 rebate for each level), CAT- lure coursing- (1 rebate for each level), Therapy Dog( 1 rebate for each level), Rally( 1 rebate for each level), Competitive Obedience ( 1 rebate for each level), Agility ( 1 rebate for each level), Dock Diving ( 1 rebate for each level), Hunt Tests( 1 rebate for each level), WC( 1 rebate for each level), Scent Work ( 1 rebate for each level) Barn Hunt ( 1 rebate for each level). Puppy of Achievement and Conformation Titles are applicable for those puppies sold on full registration.
We are adding an additional opportunity to earn a rebate by earning a CCA title. This will be applicable for puppies generally from our showline litters (check with us to see if we think your puppy will be a good candidate).
Here’s what you need to know about the LRC Conformation Certificate Program:
-
Non-competitive: Unlike traditional conformation shows, this program evaluates individual dogs against the breed standard, not against other dogs competing.
-
Open to all Labradors: This includes spayed and neutered dogs, which are typically ineligible for competitive conformation events.
-
Evaluation by judges: Dogs are judged by approved American Kennel Club (AKC) conformation or provisional judges, or LRC Board Members.
-
Judged against the breed standard: Evaluators assess the dog’s conformation and temperament based on the Labrador Retriever Breed Standard.
-
Numerical scoring: Each dog is scored in nine categories (conformation and temperament) using a 1–3 point system.
-
Certificate requirements: To receive a Conformation Certificate, a dog needs a total score of 18 or higher and the judge’s assessment that the dog demonstrates at least a 65% likelihood of conforming to the characteristics described in the breed standard.
-
Not an official title: The Conformation Certificate isn’t an AKC title but is an accomplishment similar to the LRC’s Working Certificate, recognizing a dog with basic Labrador Retriever conformation characteristics.
This program provides an opportunity for Labrador owners to have their dogs assessed for breed-standard conformation without participating in competitive events. The evaluations are designed to raise awareness of desirable Labrador Retriever breed type, according to The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc..
Process
After the title is earned, submit to AKC. Once you receive your title certificate from the AKC, send us a copy and we will rebate $150 for each title earned.
